Subacute Rehabilitation

Getting back on your feet after surgery, injury is not always easy. Pinecrest Rehabilitation Center offers a complete continuum of care through its on-site Subacute Rehabilitation Program. Our approach centers on a multi-disciplinary team of experienced, board certified physicians, nurses, social workers, dietitians, and physical, occupational and speech therapists. We work with you on your medical, social and emotional needs through a individualized care plan. Our goal is to help you reach the highest level of function prior to returning home.

Our subacute rehabilitation team addresses diverse conditions such as:

  • Medical conditions - pneumonia, heart attack, congestive heart failure, arthritis
  • Joint replacements or fractured bones
  • Heart bypass surgeries
  • Stroke
  • Parkinson's disease
  • Cancer related diagnoses
  • Our Approach

    The intensity of your program, as well as your length of stay, is determined by your needs and capabilities. Experienced therapists will assess your abilities and help you develop realistic goals for improvement. if restoration of function is not possible, our therapists will work with you and your family to help with compensatory techniques to promote your highest possible functional level.
    • Our subacute rehabilitation program is under the direct supervision of a physiatrist; a physician who specialize in rehabilitation.

    Physical Therapy

    The focus of physical therapy is to increase strength, regain balance and build endurance. We assist you to regain physical mobility, improve walking skills, and enable step or stair climbing.

    Occupational Therapy

    We enhance the skills individuals require to achieve independence in their daily life such as bathing, dressing and personal hygiene. Occupational therapists also assist to improve home management skills such as preparing meals, doing laundry or light cleaning.

    Speech Therapy

    We work to improve speech and communication, address swallowing disorders, and assist with memory deficits.
